We are looking to recruit a Community Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care who leads on the assessment,
planning and delivery of a consistently high standard of person centred
specialist palliative care.

successful candidate will be subject to a DBS Check at the level appropriate to
the role, the cost of which is covered by the hospice. Any post holder within
the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training
appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.
All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and
responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working
Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty
2015.

Main duties of the job
The Community Clinical Nurse Specialist
in Palliative Care leads on the assessment, planning and delivery of a
consistently high standard of person centred specialist palliative care. They
lead on the coordination and day-to-day management of
the service to ensure a consistently high standard of service provision and
develop and maintain good working relationships with the multidisciplinary team
internally and externally to the organisation.
The role supports service developments,
acts in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct, and works in line with the
organisations values and clinical strategy. The Community Clinical Nurse
Specialist demonstrates the core competencies of the CNS, which include
Clinical, Education, Leadership, and Audit and Research.

- 1st Level Registration, evidence of personal and professional development, and experience of working at Band 6 or equivalent

- Experience of working and studying in specialist palliative care, leadership, change management, and working in the community.
- Non-medical prescriber, Advanced Communication skills course, and mentorship and teaching experience.
- Ability to play an active role in education, work safely and autonomously as a lone worker and as part of a team, and evaluate research to ensure evidence-based practice.
- A good understanding of clinical governance and its application in practice, ability to establish good working relationships to promote best practice and take a lead in change management.
- Experience and understanding of current issues in specialist palliative care community nursing, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in the community.
- We are also seeking someone who can analyse, interpret, collate and utilise a wide range of information to enhance service development, demonstrate the ability to set and establish priorities, manage time, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively across a range of services.
- You will bring competent IT skills, audit experience, strategic competence, and the ability to take on board new concepts and problem solve.
- Personal attributes include the ability to manage the emotional impact of working in a specialist palliative care team, promote cohesive and effective team working, be self-aware, and be responsible for your own CPD and personal development.
