To
ensure that all incoming patient correspondence is reviewed, filtered and
disseminated scanned and stored as appropriate on/in the patients medical
record and relevant information is coded.
To
consistently follow the workflow protocol to ensure the quality and safety of
the service
Once
competent to manage at least 20 letters per hour
To
be able to locate documents as needed
To
carry out administrative related tasks as delegated by the specialist advisor or
team leader

- Follow all protocols to ensure consistent, safe and high quality service is provided to the practices
- Carry out administrative tasks relating to patient records, including filing, document management and ensuring patients can access reports, prescriptions and that they are easily accessible.
Coding/Workflow
- Ensure consistent use of the EMIS workflow template
- Identify relevant clinical information contained in patient correspondence
- Code or free text the clinical information on to the patient record in line with QOF/Practice guidelines
- Deal with queries relating to coding
- Forward the document to the doctor or nurse who initiated the referral or who is most appropriate to receive the information

- A level standard, or equivalent level of experience in an administrative role
- ECDL or equivalent level of keyboard/IT skills
- Evidence of continuing personal development
- Experience of working in a team

- RSA level 3 or equivalent level of experience
- Information Governance Training
- Understanding of CQC/QOF
