Local Care Direct is a non-profit Social Enterprise operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to provide various primary and urgent health care services across West Yorkshire.
Local Care Direct have an exciting new position available for a full-time Wellbeing and Engagement Manager to join our People and Culture team, supporting the delivery of the Local Care Direct People Strategy and leading our Employee Engagement & Wellbeing initiatives across the organisation.
Annual Salary: £42,000
Location: Unit 14, Longbow Close, Bradley, Huddersfield, HD2 1GQ
Hours: 37.5 hours per week worked Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00 (1/2 hour unpaid break).
Main duties of the job
The Wellbeing and Engagement Manager will be responsible for:
Supporting delivery of the LCD People strategy by leading
our employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
Working alongside subject matter experts, to deliver
a comprehensive EDI strategy across LCD, in line with organisational values and
HR policy and processes.
Developing LCDs values and culture work.
Producing communications
stories and pieces to be published via internal communication channels to promote
engagement, EDI and wellbeing activities.
Supporting with strategic external communications.
Ensuring that related people policies and processes
are developed, implemented and reviewed.
Ensuring the provision of professional expertise
and knowledge in support of efficient and effective delivery of business plans
and performance.

- To be responsible for the ongoing development of the Health and Wellbeing Hub on LCDs SharePoint, ensuring that content is relevant, up to date and reactive to the needs of staff.
- To produce high quality updates and reports on Health and Wellbeing activities.
- To produce LCD-wide communications to promote events within the wellbeing calendar.
- To review existing health, wellbeing and support information to ensure relevance and ease of accessibility.
- To promote the LCDs support networks, including Occupational Health, Peer Support, EAP, Mental Health First Aiders.
- To develop and deliver appropriate training around the Health and Wellbeing agenda.
- To manage LCDs EAP contract.
- To coordinate and support LCDs Mental Health First Aiders, sourcing external training when required.
- To review and coordinate senior manager wellness checks.
- To work alongside the HR manager to ensure Occupational Health provision is fit for purpose.
Engagement:
- To work closely with the management team to understand key challenges across the organisation and to develop and deliver engagement activities to support these challenges and maximise employee engagement.
- To review LCDs current employee engagement activities from onboarding to leaving.
- To develop and lead the delivery of LCDs employee engagement strategy, including promotion, coordination, data analysis and reporting.
- To coordinate LCDs programme of staff surveys.
- To produce internal communications which promote and support a positive employee experience.
- To implement engagement initiatives to improve engagement outcomes.
- To lead and provide support to staff engagement groups.
- To source and engage external organisations to support employee engagement activities, where required.
- To compose high quality reports on the progress of engagement activities.

- To coordinate the employee recognition programme, including employee of the month and the annual awards event.
LCD Values and Culture:
- To support the executive committee to embed the desired culture across the organisation.
- To develop and deliver culture interventions across LCD.
- To work alongside LCD Values Champion to ensure that the newly developed LCD values are embedded across LCD.
- To build measures to monitor and evaluate the impact of any culture intervention and the level of engagement with LCD values.
- To review internal communications and policies as required to ensure alignment with culture and LCDs tone of voice.
- To actively promote LCDs values and desired culture through targeted communications and day-to-day interactions.
