Job summary

BHF Property Services Barnsley is looking for a motivated and experienced Cleaning Supervisor to lead our cleaning team and ensure high standards across all sites. The ideal candidate will be hands on organised and confident in managing staff completing quality checks and maintaining a professional, efficient cleaning service. This role involves overseeing daily tasks supporting team members liaising with client, and ensuring every space is left spotless and hygienic.   • Experience in IPC cleaning specialist cleaning or facilities supervision
  • Strong understanding of infection control principles
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive hands on approach
  • Ability to travel across South Yorkshire
  • Someone dependable confident, and committed to maintaining safe environments

  • 15 hours per week 3 hours per day, Monday Friday

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

IPC Operational Delivery

  • Conduct weekly IPC audits, documenting compliance and identifying improvements
  • Ensure all IPC cleaning tasks meet BHF Cleaning Solutions standards and client requirements
  • Oversee correct use of disinfectants, sanitisation products, and colourcoding systems
  • Provide handson IPC cleaning support when required

People Supervision

  • Supervise, motivate, and support IPC cleaning operatives
  • Deliver training on IPC procedures, PPE use, and safe working practices
  • Monitor attendance, performance and adherence to IPC protocols
  • Support rota planning and emergency cover

Communication & Reporting

  • Report audit findings, site issues, and staffing concerns to the Area Cleaning Manager
  • Maintain accurate records of IPC audits, stock, and training
  • Build positive relationships with clients and site contacts

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all staff follow IPC COSHH and health & safety procedures
  • Monitor equipment condition and arrange repairs or replacements
  • Maintain stock levels of IPCapproved chemicals and ensure safe storage
