Bank Contract - Scrub Nurse/Practitioner

Job summary

Working closely with the Theatre Manager, Clinical Leads and a close-knit team of experienced and multi-disciplined individuals, you will be responsible for actively participating in, supporting and maintaining the highest standard of care to our patients, as well as the wider departments, to ensure an efficient and seamless service is provided at all times.

Registered with the appropriate governing body, you will use your skills and experience to aid in the efficient, safe and timely progress of patients through the intra-operative stage of their journey at Horder Healthcare.

This role will encompass a varied caseload with state-of-the-art technology, equipment and facilities.

Main duties of the job

What you'll do:

  • Support the anaesthetist throughout surgery and recovery.
  • Apply specialist perioperative knowledge to deliver safe, effective care.
  • Use problem-solving and critical thinking to improve services and self-development.
  • Lead professionally, taking delegated responsibilities to maintain safety and efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and positive patient experiences.
  • Promote open communication and a supportive environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Document incidents and complaints, and take steps to prevent recurrence.
  • Take a lead role in emergencies until further help arrives.
  • Encourage learning and development through mentoring programs.

Recognised as a Centre of Excellence, The McIndoe Centre is looking for experienced Scrub Nurse/Practitioners to join their ever-growing and developing Theatre team on a Bank Basis.

Due to on-call requirements, we cannot consider applications with a travel time of over 60-minutes.

Location: The McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead

Contract: Zero-hours (Bank)

Shift Availability: Requires availability on days, weekends, bank holidays, and some night shift's

Hourly Rate: £32.42 per hour (with enhanced rates for evening, weekend and bank holidays)
