Job summary
Working closely with the Theatre Management team, including the Anaesthetist and Clinical Lead, as well our team of close-knit and experienced individuals, you will be responsible for actively participating in, supporting and maintaining the highest standard of care to our patients, as well as the wider departments, to ensure an efficient and seamless service is provided at all times. Playing a pivotal role in assisting the Anaesthetist from induction to immediate post-theatre recovery, this role will encompass a varied caseload with state-of-the-art technology, equipment and facilities.
Main duties of the job
What you'll do:
- Support the anaesthetist throughout surgery and recovery.
- Apply specialist perioperative knowledge to deliver safe, effective care.
- Use problem-solving and critical thinking to improve services and self-development.
- Lead professionally, taking delegated responsibilities to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and positive patient experiences.
- Promote open communication and a supportive environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
- Document incidents and complaints, and take steps to prevent recurrence.
- Take a lead role in emergencies until further help arrives.
- Encourage learning and development through mentoring programs.
