Job responsibilities

We are looking for casual members of staff to work shifts as and when required by the service. More information on hours will be given at the interview. Commitment to work flexible and unsocial hours including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep ins (as required), is essential. Chy is a residential rehabilitation unit in Truro, providing drug, alcohol and mental health treatment services to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. We have an 18-bed main property and a further 8 beds in a block of flats on the grounds that are used as 'move on' accommodation for those with more specific therapeutic needs. Chy welcomes people from all over the UK who wish to heal, grow and make changes to their lives. Many of the people who come to us have experienced multiple traumas and are living with acute mental health support needs. Qualifications

Essential

• A driver, with a full UK driving licence and access to the use of a vehicle
• Qualified to OCN/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or willing to achieve this within 12 months
• Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years worth of references and where applicable, will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Experience

Essential

• Energetic and enthusiastic, with a willingness to get involved
• Empathic towards the different needs of our residents
• Flexible and willing to work a range of shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
• Able to demonstrate experience of working or volunteering in the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, with a successful track record of working with substance misuse clients
• Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for service users
• Experience of working in a residential setting
