Job summary

Our team in Stoke on Trent are recruiting for a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker, to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. If you are an enthusiastic and creative individual and are passionate about changing people's lives for the better, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Criminal Justice Recovery Workers provide interventions for people who have involvement with the criminal justice system and will cover a range of different areas. You will be expected to be based across the city, including within probation and custody. There will also be in reach required at different prisons, so a driving license and access to a vehicle is required. This role is also subject to enhanced vetting with Staffordshire Police. Our Recovery Workers work with our clients to help them to determine what their goals, ambitions and passions are, working with them to create the best treatment plan for their needs and to get them back onto the path to recovery.

As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year.

As an organisation we do not have a sponsorship license and are unable to provide sponsorship to live and work in the UK. As such candidates are required to hold the right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract you are applying for.

This is an integral role for With You - you will manage an active caseload of clients, connecting quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity.

You will be a compassionate and motivated individual, with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships. We're looking for demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, ideally with those with substance misuse issues. We will provide you with the training and support that you need to develop in your role so whilst experience is preferred it is not essential, please make sure to demonstrate your interest in the position and your transferable skills in your application.

You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of a team to ensure a high quality service is maintained. A driving licence is preferred for this role.

Please note, working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm with some Saturday and Tuesday late night work required on a rota basis. This is a fixed term position until 31/03/2026 and the salary is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum. A driving license and access to a vehicle is required for this position.
