Job summary

We are looking for two Alcohol Substance Misuse Nurses to provide a range of harm reduction interventions to clients. You can be based at any of our main offices (Truro, Liskeard or Penzance).

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will deliver high-quality, community-based support to individuals affected by alcohol dependency. The role will involve leading healthcare clinics and educational groups and assessing clients, particularly those who use alcohol. You will coordinate community detoxification programmes and be able to educate clients and their families about relapse prevention medication used in alcohol dependence.

Successful candidates will work as part of the clinical team, alongside in-house services which include outreach, hospital, adult community team, criminal justice and a residential rehabilitation facility.     • Registered Nurse with valid registration via the NMC
    • Completed pre-registration Registered Nurse training
    • A full UK driving licence and access to a car. You will need to ensure business use is added to your insurance policy

    • Demonstrable experience of comprehensive assessment of need including knowledge of risk assessments and management, and its implementation
    • Knowledge of safe storage, handling and administration of drugs in particular controlled drugs
