Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a Senior High Intensity Therapist to join teams working across Surrey in our Talking Therapies services. This is a role for a qualified practitioner who is looking to expand their individual clinical practice to include digital, group & one to one CBT Step 3 NICE recommended interventions alongside providing clinical supervision to trainee and qualified therapists. You will be part of an MDT working within a stepped care model delivering an NHS contract.

We work together as a team to improve access to mental health support for everyone. You will hold a qualification from a High Intensity IAPT Course (at least Post Graduate Diploma). Accreditation with the BABCP is essential and HCPC registration would be advantageous. Qualifications in clinical supervision are desirable but not essential as a successful candidate will be supported in completing the IAPT supervisor's course. Essential

  • IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma) or equivalent: e.g. a recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology, a recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy, or within a psychological therapy - plus further post graduate qualification training in CBT, and significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competences as required
  • Accreditation with BABCP
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services / routine outcome monitoring, risk assessments
  • Knowledge/understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
  • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
  • Knowledge of child protection issues and other relevant legislation
  • Able to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
  • Able to work under pressure, high level of enthusiasm and motivation
