You will be expected to work as part of the wider Operations Team, including call handling when required.

This service operates 08:00 to 20:00, 7 days a week.

Training for this role is being held on 01 and 02 November 2025 at Moorgate Primary Care Centre, Bury. Attendance is compulsory for successful applicants.

This is a temportary position and is expected to end on 31 March 2026.

Main duties of the job

Falls responders will be responsible for providing a high level of quality and care to service users within the community, working as a member of the BARDOC Operations Team.

You will respond to falls in a timely manner, within the service level agreement, and as directed by BARDOC. You will complete a post fall assessment at the service users location, in line with the trained scope of practice.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Dealing with service users in a caring, attentive and professional manner;

To work within the Reactive Falls Service Model, across Greater Manchester;

Frequent driving to and attending at the service users location within the target time, alongside a 2nd Responder, using a BARDOC vehicle;

Responding to falls calls, driving to locations such as home addresses and care homes where service users have fallen and are unable to get up;

To undertake particular physical tasks, which will include frequent lifting of service users from the floor, utilising safe manual handling procedures using equipment as required;

Frequent use of specialist equipment whilst assisting service user/service user such as lifting cushions and banana board;

Provide an appropriate post fall assessment and support to people who have fallen;

Provide basic first aid treatment in line with current practice and contact BARDOC to speak to a Clinician;

Liaise professionally and effectively with health care professionals, service users family members and care providers;

Accurately complete and process the required paperwork and computer records in a timely manner as required;

Inspect and record conditions of the BARDOC vehicle at the start and finish of shift; ensuring the vehicle is properly maintained and roadworthy daily prior to starting the shift.

Report damage/defects to specialist equipment/vehicle including losses to the Service Manager/Overnight Supervisor on shift.

Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment/work wear [PPE] at all times when providing the service;

The collection of feedback from service users;

Escalate any identified safeguarding concerns to a BARDOC Clinician;

Attend and successfully complete all training courses relevant to the performance of duties whilst working for BARDOC;

Work in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures at all times;

Such other duties as and when required by the Manager including but not limited to call handling.
