We are focused on holistic rehabilitative palliative care, delivering personalised care and support and you will be a key member of our allied health professionals' team. SPECIALIST PHYSIOTHERAPIST Band 6 £38,682 - £46,580 per annum (pro rata) Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Specialist Physiotherapy Delivery: Provide expert physiotherapy interventions for patients with palliative care needs across in-patient, day patient, outpatient and community settings.Holistic, Person-Centred Care: Champion a rehabilitative palliative approach, ensuring patients and their families receive tailored, compassionate support in line with personalised care plans.Multidisciplinary Team Integration: Act as a key member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), collaborating with nursing, medical, therapy and social care professionals to support seamless care delivery.Service Planning & Improvement: Contribute to the development, auditing and evaluation of physiotherapy services, identifying opportunities for innovation, growth and best practice.Leadership & Supervision: Line manage designated staff and volunteers, supervise students, and support the professional development of therapy team members.Teaching & Knowledge Sharing: Deliver education to patients, families, colleagues and wider networks, including self-care techniques and physiotherapy-based training.Quality, Safety & Governance: Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with HCPC and hospice policies; contribute to safeguarding, clinical governance and service quality standards.Professional Development & Networking: Stay up to date with palliative care best practice, engage with relevant professional networks and participate in shared learning and supervision. Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc/BSc Hons or equivalent) and registered with the HCPC as a Chartered Physiotherapist.Registration with Health & Care Professions Council as a Chartered PhysiotherapistAn interest in palliative care and understanding of rehabilitative palliative carePost-graduate experience working with relevant client groupsExperience assessing complex physical conditions, goal setting and formulating appropriate treatment plans.Evidence of working as an autonomous practitioner.Can demonstrate experience working within a multidisciplinary team. Desirable requirements:
Can demonstrate extended scope practice or have a willingness to take part in post graduate training e.g. acupunctureExperience of working with volunteers, students and/or experience supervising staffExperience of providing education and trainingExperience working with external organisations/community partners.
