Here at Dorothy House we provide compassionate care and support for people in our community with a life-limiting illness. Our focus is on quality of life, helping patients to live well and die well. We are looking for a Clinical Administrator to join our Clinical Coordination Centre (CCC) team. We are here for anyone in our community who's facing a life-limiting illness. Using our full breadth of service, we create individual care journeys, which start at diagnosis and continue with bereavement support for family, carers and children.

CLINICAL ADMINISISTRATOR - Band 3 £24,071 - £25,674 per annum

As an Administrator, you will provide full administrative, secretarial, and coordination support to our Clinical Coordination Centre. You will play a key role in managing patient records, handling sensitive referrals, supporting communication between teams, and ensuring efficient administrative operations across the hospice's clinical services.

  • Maintain and update patient databases (Access and SystmOne), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process and record referrals, monitor NHS and departmental email accounts, and produce weekly reports.
  • Provide compassionate telephone support to patients and families, offering guidance and signposting as needed.
  • Coordinate communications between clinical teams, handling messages efficiently.
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and the creation of spreadsheets to monitor service performance.
  • Prepare and type letters, reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Liaise with medical secretaries and primary healthcare teams to obtain necessary clinical information.
  • Respond to concerns and complaints professionally, ensuring issues are documented and escalated appropriately.

  • Good standard of maths and English.
  • A caring individual who is compassionate about providing care and support to vulnerable people.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience of using Microsoft packages, including Word, PowerPoint, e-mail and internet.
  • Able to use own initiative, prioritise and be proactive.
  • Able to deal with sensitive and confidential issues, and understands the importance of confidentiality and information governance.
