Job summary

This is a Part Time position. You will be contracted to work 30 hours per week over 4 days. This role will be based both at our Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley, as well as include visiting patients at their homes in the community, and community clinics.

Main duties of the job

Dorothy House is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to work as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team to provide practical and emotional support to patients, their families and carers. PHYSIOTHERAPIST | Band 6 £35,392 - 42,618 per annum (pro rata)

Are you a forward thinking and dynamic Registered Chartered Physiotherapist who wants to be part of a team who are taking the next step into research to support practice? If so then we have the job for you! As well as managing a caseload of patients to provide an assessment of needs and formulating care plans; you will provide professional leadership and line management to other members of the team. You will participate in clinical supervision, teach self-care techniques and Physiotherapy interventions to patients, their families and carers, and will work closely with other members of the Therapies Team as well as external agencies to ensure patients and families receive a 'joined up' service which meets their needs.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • * Qualification as a Registered Chartered Physiotherapist and a minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience
    • * Evidence of Continued Professional Development
    • * Can demonstrate extended scope practice / willingness to take part in post graduate training e.g. acupuncture
    • * Able to show empathy and present a calm, courteous and compassionate manner
    • * Can demonstrate knowledge an understanding of Palliative Care.

    Desirable

    • * To have experience of working in the community
    • * To have experience of supervising and mentoring junior staff and students

    Experience

    Essential

    • * Experience in assessing complex physical conditions
    • * To demonstrate ability to use own initiative and manage one's own time and caseload
    • * Knowledge and experience following safeguarding procedures
    • * Can demonstrate experience engaging with MDT and/or external organisations.
