Job summary
An exciting opportunity to work alongside two experienced IT technicians to further your knowledge of hospital IT systems has arisen at Fairfield independent Hospital in St Helens Merseyside.
We are located a mile off the East Lancashire Road near St Helens Merseyside. Set in 7.5 acres of beautiful woodland with free car parking and subsidised meals, this hospital offers employees wonderful surroundings for a lunchtime stroll.
This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate or time served engineer seeking a change but applications are welcome from applicants with I.T. NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification.
Main duties of the job
With standalone computer systems with onsite and Cloud back up plus a virtual environment of 32 servers the technician will find working on multiple projects across various departments stimulating and rewarding. The hospital computer service is a Windows environment and uses VMWare hypervisors. There are circa 200 users and 90 telephones.
This post is full-time plus participation in an on-call rota for week-ends (approximately 1 week-end in 5).
About us
The IT technician role will be part of a small team of two other IT technicians, two IT data processing colleagues, a dedicated SQL programmer and a Director of IT.
