Who Were Looking For:

Were looking for a highly organised Supporter Engagement Assistant to help deliver excellent supporter care at St Barnabas Hospice. Youll handle thankyou letters, data entry, income processing and supporter inquiries, while providing flexible support across Individual Giving, Lottery, Community and In Memory fundraising. Youll also assist during busy campaign periods and step in to support team cover when needed.

If you have strong admin skills, great attention to detail and a passion for supporting meaningful local care, wed love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Supporter Stewardship & Individual Giving Support

  • Support delivery of supporter stewardship activity (thank you letters, acknowledgements, onboarding packs, follow-ups).
  • Assist with Regular Giving, Lottery, and appeal administration during campaigns.
  • Support data entry, income processing checks, and supporter record updates in line with SLAs and GDPR.
  • Handle basic supporter enquiries.

Cross-Cover & Resilience

Provide planned and unplanned cover for:

    • Legacy & In Memory Assistant
    • Community Fundraising Assistant

Maintain working knowledge of:

    • In Memory administration processes
    • Community fundraising support processes
    • Key calendars, deadlines, and compliance requirements

Campaign & Peak Period Support

Provide additional capacity during:

    • Appeals (Spring, Autumn, Christmas, Torchlight Procession)
    • Lottery pushes
    • In Memory campaigns (e.g. Light Up a Life)
    • Community fundraising peak moments
  • Support mailings, fulfilment, supporter comms coordination, and admin-heavy activity.
  • Assist with event or campaign supporter follow-up where required.

Operational & Team Support

  • Work flexibly across Fundraising functions as directed by the Lead and IG Manager.
  • Support the smooth handover of work between assistants to avoid single points of failure.
  • Contribute to process improvement by flagging inefficiencies or risks.
