Job summary

As an Out-of-Hours (OOH) Driver for IC24, you will play a vital role in ensuring clinicians can safely reach patients across Sussex, day or night. Your contribution will genuinely make a difference, as you transport clinicians to patient homes, keep them equipped and ready, and provide support throughout their shifts. Main duties of the job

As an Out-of-Hours (OOH) Driver, you will transport clinicians to patient homes safely and confidently, travel across Sussex, including rural and remote areas, navigate varied environments, and support clinicians entering and leaving patient homes. You will also prepare the OOH vehicle with essential medical equipment and supplies, carry out simple vehicle checks, transport medical equipment, and support the clinician throughout their shift.

Keep Our Doctors Equipped and Ready
  • Prepare the OOH vehicle with essential medical equipment and supplies.
  • Carry out simple vehicle checks to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Transport medical equipment using a trolley and keep the car organised so clinicians can access items quickly.
  • Support with moving equipment to and from storage areas.
Support the Clinician Throughout the Shift
  • Stay available to help the doctor during and between visits.
  • Act as a chaperone during home visits when requested, supporting patient safety and providing an additional reassuring presence.
  • Help carry equipment to and from the vehicle when needed.
