Healthcare Assistant HCA

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced HCA to join our friendly team at Middleton Health Centre. We are looking for candidates with experience in a general practice setting.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate they are excellent team players. The Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care.

The successful candidate must cover general practice HCA duties which would include being able to take and record such procedures as BP, smoking status, taking bloods, flu vaccinations, B12 injections, health checks and helping with all other chronic condition monitoring.

We are ideally looking for a part time HCA, to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8am-4pm although we can be flexible for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

Duties and Responsibilities:

New patient health checks

NHS Health checks

Blood pressure, height and weight measurements

Phlebotomy

ECGs

Flu, B12 and Pneumococcal vaccinations

Chaperoning duties

Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being

Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual

Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being, and to enhance Practice QOF achievement
