Main duties of the job
This is a training role where you will work alongside an established Senior Practice Manager to learn management skills within a primary care environment.
Over time you will take on more responsibilities within the practice and
provide assistance to the Practice Manager in providing a smooth,
efficient and sustainable management of the Practice, and maintaining a happy
and committed team.
You will learn to be responsible for the production of performance and
quality standards within the practice. To manage data quality issues, providing
advice and guidance to all practice staff in the use of the clinical system. To
oversee the claims process for work undertaken as part of enhanced national or
local services and key performance indicators.

- To assist the practice manager in the overall
running of the practice, fulfilling any reasonable task as directed by
your practice manager.
- To take responsibility for the management of
the practice at times when the Practice Manager is unavailable or
absent. Including the management of
administrative staff and non-clinical management of GPs, nurses and HCA
staff.
- To be responsible for compiling all practice
rotas and ensuring these are communicated and understood by all staff.
- To assist in matters of HR as directed by the
practice manager, including the recruitment process, induction, grievance
and disciplinary procedures.
- To be aware of the practices contractual
responsibilities and assist the management team in the quality provision
of services.
- To be aware of the practices National,
Direct and Local enhanced services and take the lead in searching for data
and reporting performance to the appropriate NHS personnel.
- To be aware of the practices Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) and take the lead in searching for data and reporting
performance to the appropriate NHS personnel.
- To be aware of the practices requirements
under the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF), and assist the practice
manager in maximising performance.
- To provide support to clinical teams in
correctly identifying and targeting patients for assessment and treatment
