HENRY Early Infant Feeding Practitioner, Waltham Forest

Part time 22.5 (0.6fte) or 30 hours (0.8fte) to be worked 9 am to 5 pm 3 or 4 days a week)

fixed-term contract to 31st March 2025

Full-time salary of £24,092 to £27,132 per annum.

Actual pay will be prorated (0.6fte would be £14,455 to £16,279 and 0.8fte would be £19,273 to £21,705)

We are seeking an Early Infant Feeding Practitioner to train with us and gain accredited training through partners in order to provide excellent infant feeding support to families in Waltham Forest.

With an empathic and caring approach, you will support families with both breastfeeding and bottle-feeding through face-to-face support in hospital settings and through delivery of virtual and face-to-face workshops. You will be able to build and maintain good relationships with our health and infant feeding partners to share our offer to help more local families find out about the service.

Main duties of the job

Job Purpose:

To provide high quality and responsive infant feeding support to families, as well as developing the skills and knowledge of partner agencies to increase rates of breastfeeding. The HENRY practitioner role may comprise any or all of the following responsibilities. Additional role-specific information gives a more detailed description of individual posts.

About us

The team:

You will be joining our Early Infant Feeding team, who will be led by an Early Infant Feeding Team Lead. Once recruitment is complete, you will be a key member of a team of four part time staff.

Your team will form an important part of the larger Waltham Forest HENRY team, which includes a 6 person Infant Feeding team currently delivering support through a local helpline and through sessions in the Children and Family Hubs. We also have a Healthy Families team, who deliver workshops, programmes and drop-in sessions for families on the topics of a healthy family lifestyle and dental health.

We are all driven by a desire to create a mutually supportive and creative team, as well as providing the very best support for families. As part of this team, you will also build and maintain relationships with partners in the local community such as health services, children and family hubs, libraries, early years settings and other community providers.
