Same Day Access Practitioner

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a well established Same Day Access service for Weymouth and Portland Primary Care Network (PCN)

The service will aim to manage acute on the day demand, working with a defined number of conditions which has been steadily increasing since the commencement of the service in 2023.

Interviews planned to take place 23rd and 25th June.

Main duties of the job

The role involves delivering face to face appointments. The clinicians providing the PCN Same Day Access Service will work together from the same site. Support will be available from a duty GP as needed.

This role is ideally suited to Paramedics, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, enhanced nurses

There is scope for development within the role, particularly including non medical prescribing, IRMER training , for paramedics - FCP roadmap to practice, triage.

  • To be autonomous in clinical decision making

  • To support with the ongoing development and expansion of the Same Day Access Service
  • Access to regular clinical supervision

  • HCPC registered Paramedic or NMC registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner

Experience

  • Experience in dealing with a wide range of conditions that may present daily
  • Enhanced clinical examination skills
  • Paramedics should have completed their two-year Consolidation of Learning period as a newly qualified paramedic and has a further three years experience as a band 6 (or equivalent) paramedic

  • Motivated, hard-working with good communication skills and able to work well as a part of a team.
