Want to use your coding skills in a different way whilst working from home?

BPAS are looking for an enthusiastic developer with Microsoft SQL, C# and JavaScript programming skills to be involved in the full system development lifecycle from idea to delivery.

As a software engineer you will be directly contributing to making a real difference in BPAS. You will be involved and valued for your contribution in a small, friendly, highly skilled IT team supporting an organisation that is extremely ambitious in its plans for the future.

You will work remotely, full time, 36 hours per week, over Monday to Friday. A detailed working pattern can be found below.

About You:

We are looking for a confident and articulate software engineer with solid hands-on experience in a similar role. You'll be technically adept in Microsoft SQL, JavaScript and jQuery/ Angular, C#, .Net with good working knowledge of Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio and Subversion, Git or similar.

You will have an ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the organisation in a positive and friendly manner and a methodical, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving.

Main duties of the job

You will bring:

  • Qualified to a degree level in a Computer Science or Technology discipline or be able to demonstrate work experience to an equivalent level
  • Experience of investigating, identifying, and contributing to the resolution of software and technical issues, engaging effectively with third party suppliers and specialist resources as appropriate.
  • Technical coding ability
  • Experience in systems integration
  • Experience developing and maintaining system documentation using appropriate tools and techniques

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be part of a small team that will design, code, verify, test, document, amend and maintain complex programs/ scripts and integration software services to achieve well engineered outcomes
  • To manage the implementation of software modifications with consideration of operational impact, risk
  • To identify areas and opportunities to improve and support existing systems
  • To maintain robust change control procedures and documentation
  • To support activities to meet demand for business intelligence and data analytics
