BPAS are looking for a Programme Manager to join the team for 36 hours per week on a 12 months fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
About the role
As a Programme Manager, you will play an important role in organising & coordinating inter-connected projects, ensuring they align with our Continuous Improvement Plan.
You will guide teams & project managers, fostering a collaborative environment that upholds BPAS' culture. Your key responsibilities include chairing the Project Review Group, providing regular updates to the Executive Leadership Team, & managing the Programme Dashboard.
This role requires you to support & monitor the Continuous Improvement Plan & act as a project manager for selected projects. You will facilitate communication across departments, support effective change management, & ensure good governance throughout all project phases.
Main duties of the job
- Chair and organise the Project Review Group, ensuring the group terms of reference are adhered to
- Fulfil the project manager role where there are gaps
- Provide guidance and regular check and challenge to ensure projects have engagement from all key stakeholders
- Produce regular reports to the Executive Leadership Team
- Manage the Programme Dashboard and schedule activities as necessary following discussion with the Executive
- Ensure document version control and confidentiality is maintained
- Facilitating communication between and among cross functional teams to ensure progress is maintained
- Update Highlight Reports, Gantt charts and associated documents following meetings with members of the Executive Leadership Team
- Produce monthly/quarterly updates as required
- Support at meetings with external stakeholders to provide key updates on improvement plan progress
About You
The successful candidate will be educated with a minimum 2 A-Levels & ideally a project management qualification. You should have experience in a managerial position, managing projects, & working across departments. An understanding of project management, improvement methodologies, & governance is essential. You should be able to present confidently, work unsupervised, & have the ability to interact with senior managers & external agencies.
We are also looking for:
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software (such as Basecamp or MS Project) is advantageous
- Excellent communication & problem-solving skills
