Our Corporate Governance team plays a crucial role in ensuring that we meet all legal and regulatory obligations. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Paralegal to join our team and support us in handling clinical negligence claims, inquests, and legal governance matters
Main duties of the job
As a Paralegal at BPAS, you will be responsible for managing legal claims and inquests, providing expert legal support, and ensuring that all governance matters are handled efficiently. You will liaise with NHS Resolution (NHSR), private insurers, and external legal representatives to ensure BPAS meets all legal and regulatory requirements.
This role requires strong analytical and case management skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive legal matters with discretion. You will work closely with internal teams, external legal professionals, and regulatory bodies, ensuring that BPAS continues to provide safe, legal, and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Negligence & Legal Claims Oversee the management of clinical negligence claims, liaising with NHSR, insurers, and external legal advisors
Inquests Handle legal and procedural matters related to inquests, working with His Majestys Coroners Office and supporting BPAS witnesses
Legal Advice & Governance Provide legal support across BPAS, ensuring compliance with UK healthcare law and best practices
Data Protection & Compliance Manage subject access requests (SARs) and ensure accurate disclosure of medical records
Stakeholder Management Work closely with internal teams, medical staff, external legal professionals, and regulatory bodies
