BPAS are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Medicines Management Technician. This is a permanent, part time role working 22.5 hours over 3 days, Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid working arrangement with travel to BPAS units across the Midlands, South, and our stores in Redditch (travel expenses re-imbursed). About the role:
As a Medicines Management Technician at BPAS, you will lead, support, and undertake assurance audits to enhance, implement, and embed an infrastructure ensuring robust and compliant systems and processes for medicines management. You will support staff in all aspects of medicines management, including documentation, administration, stock control, purchasing, safe storage, and waste management, adhering to ethical, legislative, and BPAS standards. Additionally, you will provide training to ensure compliance with legislative and BPAS standards, actively contributing to the promotion of safe and effective medicine use within the organisation.

Main duties of the job
- Support clinical risk management with planning
and delivery of audit assurance programmes in relation to medicines management.
- Support and deliver the audits of storage,
distribution, and use of drugs across all BPAS sites, providing feedback
reporting and action plans.
- Directly support and undertake audits.
- Provide pharmaceutical
related technical advice around medicines management to a variety of sources.
- Support the maintenance
and update of the content of the drug formulary, ensuring it remains up to
date, suitable for BPAS.
- Provide/create and disseminate materials on
complex healthcare and medicines management matters.
About You:
We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician with a minimum of three years' experience in hospital pharmacy. Your role will involve providing pharmaceutical-related technical advice, supporting clinical risk management through audit programs, and delivering training on medicines management. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to continuous professional development. You should be a self-starter, assertive, and inspire confidence, demonstrating a calm disposition even under pressure.

- Proficient
in conducting and delivering audits and feedback mechanisms
- Communicating clinical
information to all grades of healthcare professionals
- The ability to demonstrate an understanding of current pharmacy / NHS issues
