Maintenance Manager - 36 hours

At BPAS, we are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance activities across the BPAS estate. This is a full time, permanent position, working over Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Estates and Property Services Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our 50 sites nationwide remain fully operational, safe, & compliant with the estates clinical specification.

The Role

This is a hands-on role for a qualified tradesperson who is confident managing both practical maintenance work & contractor relationships. You'll coordinate planned & reactive repairs, support projects, & ensure all maintenance is delivered to a high standard.

You'll also play a leading role in training & upskilling our maintenance teams across units.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings deep technical expertise, a proactive approach, & a commitment to service quality. You'll have significant experience in estates or facilities management, a relevant trade qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ etc), & excellent organisational & communication skills. Experience within a healthcare setting would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

  • Leading maintenance activities across all BPAS sites to ensure they meet clinical, statutory, and health and safety standards.
  • Delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring works are completed promptly, cost-effectively, and to a high standard.
  • Performing minor to medium repair and replacement tasks, including basic plumbing, drainage, and lighting maintenance.
  • Managing and monitoring contractors and maintenance staff to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation using CAFM systems.
  • Conducting PAT testing and supporting site surveys and project planning.
  • Providing training, guidance, and hands-on support to develop the skills of the wider maintenance team.
