Job summary

Are you a highly motivated and experienced Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDI&B) Manager who is passionate about creating a more inclusive workplace?

Do you have experience implementing EDI for customers/clients/patients and not just from a workforce perspective?

BPAS are a leading UK healthcare charity and provider of reproductive healthcare services. We are looking for an experienced Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Manager to develop, lead and manage our equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) initiatives.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively across BPAS, leading the development and implementation of EDI strategies, policies and initiatives that support the delivery of BPAS's objectives and align with our values. You will provide advice and guidance on EDI issues and help embed EDI principles and practices across BPAS.

Main duties of the job

  • You will take ownership and develop and implement BPAS's EDI strategies, policies and initiatives that promote diversity, equality, and inclusion
  • To deliver the Equality Delivery System (EDS) for NHS England. Coordinating the dissemination of data and to produce final report and prepare for publication.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on EDI issues to colleagues and stakeholders across BPAS
  • Identify and lead initiatives to enhance BPASs diversity and inclusion culture, and create a sense of belonging for all staff and clients
  • Monitor and Report on EDI activity and data and prepare written reports for a range of stakeholders including Senior Leadership Team, Trustee Board and Committees.

About You

You will have experience in developing and implementing EDI strategies, policies and initiatives for customers/clients and patients. You will be innovative, adaptable and passionate about EDI&B issues and driving the evolution of BPAS's policies.

We are also looking for

  • Knowledge of equality legislation, best practice & regulations. (ideally how it applies in the public and third sectors)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of an organisation
  • Experience using Equality Impact Assessments to create sustainable change.
  • Experience in creating a workplace culture that is inclusive, equitable, and diverse.
  • A creative personality and skills, to build and deliver EDI interventions and ways of working

British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) is the UK's largest independent women's reproductive healthcare charity. We work mainly on behalf of the NHS across the country providing abortion, contraception, STI testing & treatment. We specialise in evidence-based, not-for-profit care reproductive healthcare.

Very occasional travel may also be required to BPAS units (travel expenses will be re-imbursed)

Hours: 36 hours per week working Monday to Thursday 09:00 to 17:00 and Friday 09:00 to 15:30

Salary: Circa £45,000 to £53,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
