BPAS are seeking a Data Protection Coordinator to join our IT team. As part of this role, you will provide essential administrative support to our Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Senior Information Risk Officer (SIRO), ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and maintaining the integrity of our information governance processes. Responsibilities include maintaining IG policies and procedures, managing IG registers, supporting incident reporting processes, and facilitating access requests.

This is a permanent full time role working 36 hours per week over Monday to Friday. You will work remotely from home, with one to two days per week in our Head Office in Leamington Spa.

About you:

To excel in this role, you should be educated up to A-Level standard and possess a UK data protection/GDPR qualification or training. Previous experience in maintaining documentation and record-keeping, handling confidential information, and using office-based software such as Microsoft Word and Excel are valued. Knowledge of UK privacy laws, and data security standards is advantageous. Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills are essential, along with a professional demeanor and commitment to safeguarding data privacy.

Main duties of the job

  • To maintain and track IG policies and procedures ensuring you are coordinating any changes
  • You will manage and maintain IG registers for GDPR compliance
  • Support and maintain incident reporting process. This will include assisting in responses to IG incidents on Datix and escalating related incidents to the SIRO and DPO
  • To support and maintain the Subject Access Requests process. To include maintaining the register and liaising with the relevant department
  • To ensure an up-to date privacy notice and IG information is published
  • To provide and be the point of contact for data protection queries, escalating them to the relevant officer where necessary
  • Support the work of the BPAS IG Board and stakeholders by arranging meetings, and distributing agendas & materials
  • Support the L&D department with the provision of IG-related training and materials
