Business Development Manager - North West

Job summary

Are you a dynamic and driven professional with a strong track record in securing new business and fostering key relationships?

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team at BPAS, reporting to the Head of Business Development. This is an exciting opportunity to drive new business growth, manage contracts, and build strong relationships with NHS commissioners and stakeholders, all while supporting our mission to deliver sustainable, high-quality services.

This role is for 36 hours per week, over Monday to Friday, and is home based with travel across the North West of England and North Wales. Travel to our Head Office in Leamington Spa is also required for quarterly meetings (mileage is paid).

Main duties of the job

  • Develop and implement a targeted programme to secure new business in line with BPAS's strategic objectives.
  • Lead the negotiation of contracts and service agreements, ensuring compliance with pricing and national guidelines.

  • Monitor and manage contract performance, reporting on volume, income, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS commissioners, business partners, and other stakeholders.

  • Identify local business opportunities and threats, providing insights to inform strategic decisions.

  • Monitor appointment availability and demand trends, advising on capacity management and business opportunities.

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of contracts and ensure seamless handover of agreements to unit managers.

  • Champion BPAS's mission whilst maintaining professionalism and confidentiality

About You

You're a proactive and persuasive professional with a proven track record in sales, marketing, or contract negotiation, ideally within healthcare. You combine strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a passion for BPAS's mission to support women's reproductive choices. You thrive in a dynamic environment, working independently and collaboratively to drive business growth.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong knowledge of sales, marketing, and negotiating techniques
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation, tendering processes, and working in a sales or marketing environment
