Job summary
BPAS is looking for a Remote Consultation Doctor to complete
pre-treatment and consultation with clients
requesting an abortion or other services offered by BPAS remotely.
As a Remote Consultation Doctor, you will be responsible for
carrying out a full medical assessment on client suitability to undergo
treatment at BPAS, including abortion (medical and surgical) and assess the
clients reason for requesting termination against the criteria of the Abortion
Act.
This is a 37.5 hour per week role working 5 x 7.5 hours shifts over Monday - Saturday (Rotas are confirmed 2 weeks in advance). Based from home, with a salary of £87,000 - £95,000 (plus a payment of time and a half for weekend working) this provides a great opportunity for work life balance.

Main duties of the job
- Make decisions on a clients suitability for treatment based on clinical judgment and BPAS suitability criteria.
- Ensure appropriate assessment and investigations have been undertaken prior to clients treatment.
- Complete all regulatory documentation including HAS1 and HSA4 forms remotely and in a timely manner as required.
- Prescribe medication for and related to the abortion and prescribe post abortion contraception.
- Provide clinical advice to BPAS Nurses and Midwives in relation to clients with complex histories or other problems.

About you:
You will be a fully qualified Medical Doctor with current GMC licence to practice, along with some post-qualification obstetrics/gynaecology experience. Computer literate you will be able to quickly assimilate written information and make decisions.
Experience of working within sexual health or abortion care is desirable, along with the ability to coach or advise other healthcare processionals when needed. You will be able to manage and prioritise workload effectively whilst working remotely and have a commitment to client centered care.

- Friday - 08:30 to 17:30
