At BPAS, we have an exciting part -time opportunity for a
Healthcare Assistant to join our Birmingham Central unit working 15 hours per week on Monday and Tuesday
The role
We are looking for someone who by working alongside our Nurses & Midwives will be able provide the best care to our patients.
As a HCA, you will be required to assist with the care, support and observations of the client before & after treatment, and report findings to the Registered Practitioners. You will help check and prepare the clinical environment and equipment prior to use, between clients and at the end of a list.
About You
You will have experience working in healthcare especially in a hospital, GP practice or operating theatre setting. With a positive can do attitude you will enjoy working as a part of a team and be passionate about helping and caring for others.
Main duties of the job
Key
Responsibilities:
- To
assist with the care, support and observations of the client before and after
treatment, report findings to the Registered Practitioners.
- To
assist in the preparation and serving of refreshments
- Help check and prepare
the clinical environment and equipment prior to use, between
clients and at the end of a list.
- Undertake counts of
swabs, instruments and needles in conjunction with another trained member of
the surgical team, and assist the surgical team.
- To have
an understanding of clients' individual needs and to maintain a helpful,
courteous approach to clients, visitors and colleagues.
We
are also looking for:
- Care certificate
in healthcare / NVQ Level 3 in health and social care / Diploma in health and support level 3
- Positive attitude to change
- Willingness to learn
- IT skills
