Are you a Registered Nurse or Midwife (practising) with experience in a fast-paced clinical triage environment?
We're
looking for an Aftercare Nurse or Midwife to join our supportive & dedicated telephone triage team. This is a permanent, home-based, part-time
role working 30 hours per week. Our team handles a high volume of calls each year,
providing compassionate & efficient clinical triage, ensuring patients
receive the right support & advice.
You'll be
required to work shifts on a flexible rotating schedule across a 24/7 service,
including some evenings, weekends, & overnight shifts. Your rota is provided
in advance however full flexibility is required.

As an Aftercare Nurse or
Midwife, you will provide pre, during, & post-abortion, vasectomy, & sexual health triage over the phone. Your role will involve assessing patient
concerns, identifying potential complications, & providing appropriate
clinical advice or referrals where necessary. This is a triage-focused role,
ensuring patients receive timely guidance & support.
Every patient is different, & you must adapt your
approach to meet their individual needs. You'll assess and provide medical
advice to a varied patient group with a wide range of conditions and concerns.
Main duties of the job
- Provide clinically safe triage care for patients with a broad range of questions & concerns before, during, & after their treatment
- Book post-operative checks for patients who need follow-up care in clinic
- Refer patients to our counselling service & safeguarding team when needed
- Refer patients to A&E or their GP where appropriate
- Make safeguarding risk assessments & referrals to social services or other relevant agencies if needed
- Accurately update patient notes & inform clinics of any required follow-ups
About You
You'll be a Registered Adult Nurse Level 1 or
Midwife (practising) with experience in midwifery triage, gynaecology, abortion
care, or a related acute setting. You'll need:
- Experience in a fast-paced,
high-volume clinical triage setting
- Strong decision-making skills and
confidence in telephone-based clinical assessment
- A broad clinical knowledge, with
experience working to guidelines, policies, & procedures
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in
Microsoft Office
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication,
and listening skills
- The ability to work autonomously, making
sound clinical decisions while independently managing patient triage, and
self-motivate in a home-based setting
This role
fully supports your NMC revalidation, ensuring you can maintain your
registration while gaining valuable experience in clinical triage. All
training, patient interactions, & professional development will contribute
towards your revalidation requirements.

for training and induction purposes.
Visits to head office in Leamington Spa will be required for meetings & training, approximately twice a year)

Salary: £36,938 to £44,625 per annum - pro-rata for part-time hours, depending on skills and experience.
