Job summary
The purpose of this role is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of services by developing and maintaining data systems, reporting processes, and performance monitoring tools. The role ensures that accurate, timely, and meaningful data is available to inform decision-making, improve staff and client experiences, and support continuous service development.
The main areas of the job will include:
Champion a data-driven culture across the service and organization, promoting the use of data in decision-making at all levels.
Develop data reporting templates aligned with service requirements and KPIs and produce regular monitoring reports.
Provide performance and outcome data to assist service managers in improving client experience and service delivery.
Support the effective use of electronic systems, particularly telephony systems, the AireBlocks suite, SilverCloud and the IAPTus patient record system.
Work with the management team to ensure service planning and development are guided by robust data analysis.
Main duties of the job
Reporting:
Review and develop local monitoring templates and reports in line with key performance indicators (KPIs) and national requirements, including the Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS).
Produce statistical and management information reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual data returns, as well as ad hoc reports.
Ensure monitoring reports are accessible, easy to read, and include clear, informative narratives with a focus on impact.
Support Northpoint staff in carrying out data searches, responding to subject access requests and compiling reports as required.
Attend data and contract meetings with commissioners and partners, as well as other relevant meetings and working groups.
Share qualitative and quantitative performance and outcome data with clinicians and staff to celebrate success and achievements.
Support Northpoint to share data with wider audiences, including young people, parents/carers, schools, and non-mental health professionals.
Quality:
Regularly review the accuracy of data and oversee data quality checks and data cleansing activities.
Ensure data processes and systems are clear, efficient, and easy to follow with a focus on continuous improvement.
Provide reliable data to help the management team ensure services are accessible and address health inequalities (e.g., ethnicity, age, gender, and need).
Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards across all reporting and analysis.
Use of Systems:
Oversee and maintain effective use of electronic systems including, but not limited to telephony systems, the AireBlocks suite, SilverCloud and the IAPTus patient record system.
Support and train staff in the use of electronic systems and enable others to provide peer support where appropriate.
Liaise with technical vendors to develop and improve systems including system integration.
Work collaboratively with administrative and support staff to ensure data input aligns with service developments and national/local requirements.
Change Management & Service Planning:
Provide data and insights to support modelling of future service delivery.
Monitor service capacity and appointments in line with approved frameworks (i.e. the Choice & Partnership Approach - CAPA) and contractual requirements.
Analyse demand, trends, and pressures to support effective resource use, minimise waiting times, and improve client journeys.
Contribute to wider service improvement and development initiatives informed by data analysis.
Collaborate with data and systems peers in partner organisations to increase collaboration and improve service delivery.
