Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced professional to join the Northpoint Open Minds (CAMHS) team as a therapeutic practitioner, delivering mental health support to children, young people and their parents/carers across Calderdale.

Main duties of the job

We work across community settings and strive to place the young person at the centre of care planning. Due to an expansion of the service, we have a full-time permanent position available.

About us

Open Minds (CAMHS) is delivered in partnership between Northpoint and South West Yorkshire Partnership Trust (SWYPT). We work as part of the wider Open Minds partnership, which is a network of statutory and voluntary organisations delivering mental health and emotional wellbeing services for children and young people.

The successful candidates will bring experience of delivering interventions for children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties. We are looking for individuals who are person-centred in their approach and can use their skills creatively in a demanding environment.

The principal areas of the post include:

  1. Assess the strengths and needs of children, young people and their parents/carers.
  2. Support children, young people and their parents/carers to access community-based services and self-help resources.
  3. Deliver short-term, evidence-based treatment which involves working with service users to help them identify their goals, measure progress, and celebrate success.
  4. Work alongside/provide support to partner agencies, including schools, specialist CAMHS, third sector providers and universal services.
