Main duties of the job

We have a unique opportunity for a School Therapist to join Northpoint's School Services in the ARM Alwoodley, Moortown and Roundhay Cluster on a part-time, fixed-term basis for maternity cover. Further hours may also be available and can be discussed at interview.

Job responsibilities

What you will be doing as a School Therapist:

As a School Therapist in the ARM cluster, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering one-to-one short-term therapeutic interventions to primary and secondary school-aged children and young people referred into the cluster.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with school staff and management teams.
  • Assessing and determining the need for intervention with children and families referred.
  • Holding a caseload of children and young people, conducting assessments, and formulating emotional and mental health needs.
  • Providing evidence-based individual interventions in various school settings.
  • Collaborating with the School team to identify appropriate practitioners or CAMHS pathways for onward referrals.
  • Offering consultation and advice to school staff and professionals as needed.
  • Working across the schools in the cluster to provide support where required.
  • Ensuring safeguarding concerns are addressed appropriately and contributing to safeguarding processes.
  • Maintaining confidential records in line with Northpoint's procedures.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to ensure therapeutic services are evidence-based and tailored to the client group.
  • Communicating with parents and families according to Northpoint's guidelines.
