We are seeking an exceptional  Director to lead our large mental health contract for Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS).

This unique opportunity involves working across various partner organisations to lead the Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service leadership team in delivering high quality mental health services. The role plays a crucial part in managing the day-to-day operations, fostering partnerships, and ensuring the sustainability and growth of LMWS.

What you will be doing as our Director of Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service:

As the Director of Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful execution of the LMWS contract. Your strategic visions, operational expertise, and strong leadership abilities will be instrumental in driving the contracts’ success. You’ll also ensure the delivery of exceptional mental health services across all our communities, and so securing the contract for the future.  

What we are looking for:

  • Post-graduate qualification to the Master’s level or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience is strategic operations management within mental health services or related field.
  • Extensive experience in change management and program management.
  • Sound financial acumen, with experience in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration and building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Innovative and strategic thinking.
  • Commitment to modernisation of services.

Essential

  • Relevant degree or 3 years experience in a similar role
  • A proven track record of successful delivery on all KPIs of a large complex contracts.
  • Experience of leadership and management at a senior level
  • Evidence of improving and maintaining operational performance

Desirable

  • Experience of working at a senior level in a mental health or third sector organisation
  • Experience of working in a clinical environment
  • Experience of Leading in a matrix organisation

Knowledge & Understanding

Essential

  • Sound knowledge of managing budgets related to all areas of a contract. To include developing and monitoring budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Sound understanding of the risk of delivering mental health services across a range of settings
  • An understanding of the commissioning landscape and how funding is allocated.
  • A sound knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices
