This unique position offers you the opportunity to work with the Clinical Lead to support the delivery of a safe and high quality community nursing service in a defined locality working alongside the District Nurse to effectively manage the Community Nursing team.
We use electronic clinical records through EMIS and a work IPad and IPhone will be provided.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide operational support across Guildford and Waverley Community nursing, working with District Nurses and Clinical Leads to manage staffing including sickness, formal reviews and appraisals. You will manage the off duty for Guildford and Waverley, ensuring a safe service. You will also lead on Datix and incident investigations delegated from the Clinical Lead. You will provide highly visible leadership to the Community Nursing team and support with staff development.
The role will be 40% clinical and 60% management.
Post holders will be available to work Monday to Sunday between 8am and 8pm. A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use if required for this post, however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

- Evidence of recent continuing professional development relevant to Community Nursing

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Broad range of clinical skills relevant to community nursing, - including but not limited to Compression Bandaging, Dopplers, Venepuncture, Male & Suprapubic Catheter, Syringe drivers and Palliative care symptom management
- Experience prioritising conflicting workloads and demands
- Ability to teach and supervise students and colleagues using varied techniques including presentations
- Able to demonstrate experience of managing people, undertaking appraisals, investigations, formal and informal reviews, Supporting staff through HR processes
- Able to use databases and other IT programmes, including MicroSoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Emails, Virtual Meeting platforms
