To ensure that the cleanliness of the Hospice
is maintained to the highest possible standards in line with Hospice policies
and procedures and Health and Safety legislation.
Main duties of the job
To liaise with the Catering and Domestic Lead and
In-patient Unit staff to ensure that the cleaning requirements are
appropriately prioritised and that cleaning schedules are fulfilled
To
store all goods in the correct manner and practising COSHH and risk
assessments
To be
aware of and maintain safety procedures at all times in relation to the
spread of infectious diseases, working under the guidance of the Infection
Control Lead Nurse to minimise risks to patients staff and visitors
To
ensure that all equipment is cleaned and maintained to appropriate
standards to ensure its effectiveness reporting and equipment failure at
the earliest opportunity
To undertake
training as required to ensure that the role is fulfilled to the highest
possible standards
To
adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures as laid down by
statute and the hospice to ensure a healthy and safe environment for
patients, staff and visitors
To
carry out all duties in accordance with the Law, the Hospice Philosophy
and the Hospice Policy on Equality of Opportunity, in a collectively
responsible manner and to support the implementation of the Hospice
Strategy
