This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and values-driven leader to shape the future of Allied Health Professional (AHP) practice across HUC. As Head of AHPs, you will play a vital role in defining the strategic vision, professional standards, and service excellence that underpin safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will lead, inspire and empower a diverse workforce to deliver integrated, person-centred services that improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities across communities.

Working at the heart of HUC's senior leadership team, you will influence decision-making, drive system collaboration, and ensure that AHP voices are represented at every level. The role combines strategic leadership with visible, hands-on engagement, from building the capability and wellbeing of the workforce to promoting innovation, digital transformation, and continuous improvement. You will develop partnerships with regulators, commissioners and system leaders, guiding the integration of AHP services across urgent and primary care pathways.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide visible, values-driven leadership to inspire, develop and represent the Allied Health Professional community across HUC.
  • Lead the design and delivery of a forward-thinking workforce strategy that secures a sustainable, skilled and motivated AHP workforce equipped for future service demands.
  • Champion innovation and service transformation, empowering teams to embed evidence-based practice, digital solutions and new models of care that enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee governance, quality assurance and risk management frameworks, ensuring patient safety and continuous improvement through learning, audit and accountability.
  • Build strong strategic partnerships with system leaders, providers and commissioners to drive integration, influence policy and shape population health outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Board and senior leaders on all matters relating to AHP practice, professional standards and workforce development.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, curiosity and excellence by promoting professional growth, wellbeing and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Represent HUC across regional and national forums, raising the profile of AHP leadership and championing their essential contribution to the health and care system.
