Main duties of the job
- Provide strategic nursing leadership to ensure the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care across all clinical services.
- Lead the implementation of the organisation's Quality Strategy, embedding a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and professional accountability.
- Oversee all aspects of clinical governance including incident management, risk assessment, audit, complaints, and learning from harm, ensuring clear evidence of improvement.
- Drive workforce planning, recruitment, and retention initiatives, supporting NMC revalidation, mentorship, wellbeing, and career development across nursing teams.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory bodies such as CQC, NHSE, and UKHSA, maintaining strong assurance and readiness for inspection.
- Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and external partners, promoting integration, system alignment, and shared responsibility for quality outcomes.
- Champion innovation, digital transformation, and evidence-based practice to enhance clinical safety, service efficiency, and patient experience.
- Provide visible leadership, inspiring excellence, compassion, and pride within the nursing workforce while upholding professional values and organisational priorities.
