Job summary

HUC (Incorporating Devon Doctors Group) has an exciting opportunity for an administrative assistant to join our friendly practice team and to be involved in delivering a new service. The Clocktower Surgery is a practice for people experiencing homelessness in Exeter and provides health outreach to various locations in Exeter.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work for The Clock Tower Surgery, which provides primary care services to people that are experiencing homelessness in Exeter.

About us

This post involves supporting the STAR project which is a new multi-agency team delivering care to rough sleepers with substance misuse treatment and improving health. The role will be mainly responsible for providing administrative support to the clinicians in managing substance misuse. This includes managing the recall system, issuing and printing prescriptions, liaising with patients recovery workers and support workers and assisting with documentation and coding into patients electronic records.

The role involves providing administrative support to the clinicians in managing substance misuse; training will be provided. The postholder will manage queries from patients, support workers and professionals and act as a problem-solver. The role will also involve providing, as needed, reception and general administrative duties for the Clocktower Surgery.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and able to work independently and seek solutions to problems. They would have experience in administrative work, ideally within a healthcare setting.
