Job summary
To support the operational, strategic, and financial
delivery of Primary Care Network (PCN) objectives. The PCN Manager will act as
the central point of coordination for PCN activities, supporting practice
engagement, workforce deployment, governance, reporting, and system-level
initiatives, while contributing and drafting to business case and funding bid
development.
The remit of this role is broad
and evolving and will require attention to detail in the delivery of
high-quality day to day operations.
Main duties of the job
Operational & Programme Support
- Coordinate delivery of PCN initiatives, DES requirements, and local enhanced services.
- Develop work plans, track milestones, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support practice engagement, scheduling, and day-to-day operational issues.
- Assist in workforce planning and ARRS role allocation.
Financial & Contract Management
- Monitor PCN budgets, income streams, and expenditure.
- Support finance reporting, resource allocation, and cost tracking.
- Assist in business case financial modelling, cost justification, and demonstrating value-for-money.
Business Case & Funding Bid Development
- Draft business cases and project/funding bids to ICB or system partners to secure PCN funding.
- Translate strategic and commissioning priorities into clear, actionable proposals.
- Support cost modelling, financial justification, and value-for-money analyses.
Governance & Compliance
- Co-ordinate with PCN CD, agenda, papers for the monthly PCN network and board meetings.
- Take responsibility for maintain PCN network agreement
- Support compliance with NHS governance, DES specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Data, Reporting & IT Systems
- Maintain PCN dashboards, extract and interpret key data, and produce reports for Clinical Directors and commissioners.
- Support digital transformation and system integration initiatives across practices.
