Job responsibilities

Education Planning & Delivery

- Develop and deliver high-quality, multi-disciplinary educational content tailored to professionals across general practice, including GPs, nurses, allied health professionals (AHPs), pharmacists, physician associates, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff.

- Facilitate interdisciplinary learning experiences to enhance collaboration between general practice teams and colleagues in wider primary care, social care, and secondary care settings.

- Lead the design and implementation of workshops, e-learning modules, seminars, and continuing professional development (CPD) programs to address the evolving needs of primary care professionals.

- Promote evidence-based practice and ensure educational materials reflect current guidelines, research, and best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

- Work closely with Integrated Care Systems (ICS), Primary Care Networks (PCNs), and other key partners to ensure education is aligned with local and national workforce development priorities.

- Build strong relationships with professional bodies, academic institutions, and training hubs to expand educational opportunities and develop innovative learning pathways.

- Collaborate with clinical and operational leads to integrate education within workforce planning strategies and support career progression initiatives.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

- Conduct regular evaluations of educational programs to measure their impact and identify areas for enhancement.

- Implement feedback mechanisms to refine learning experiences, ensuring they remain engaging, relevant, and impactful.

- Stay updated with policy changes, workforce challenges, and emerging trends in primary care education, translating insights into responsive learning solutions.

Mentorship & Professional Development

- Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development support for learners at all levels, including trainees, early-career professionals, and experienced staff seeking advanced education.

- Support primary care teams in embedding a culture of lifelong learning and quality improvement.

- Actively participate in faculty development activities, conferences, and projects to continuously enhance teaching skills and educational leadership.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

• - Significant experience working in a primary care or community healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of multi-disciplinary team working.
• - Proven experience in teaching, training, or workforce development, with expertise in delivering education to diverse professional groups.
• - Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage learners and stakeholders at all levels.
• - A strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in healthcare education.
• - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a complex healthcare environment.

Desirable

• - Experience in curriculum design, e-learning development, or digital education methodologies.
• - Knowledge of primary care policy, workforce transformation, and integrated care models.

Qualifications

Essential

• - A professional qualification in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, allied health professions, or another relevant healthcare discipline.

Desirable

• A postgraduate qualification in medical/healthcare education, leadership, or workforce development.
