Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to assist with the Autumn
2023 COVID-19 national vaccination delivery programme. We are looking for
registered healthcare professionals to join our existing vaccination hub casual
workforce.
The post holder must complete (or have completed) COVID19
vaccine training via ESR or eLearning for Health. You will have great people
skills and enjoy working as a team in a fast-paced environment.
Training will be provided and you will work as part of a
multidisciplinary team where you will also be required to supervise a small
team of non-registered vaccinators. You will adhere to National Protocols and
SDHC policies and procedures including safeguarding, infection control,
information governance, health and safety and equality and diversity.
We are based in Hampden Park (Eastbourne) however
vaccinations will also take place at various locations in East Sussex including
care homes and the homes of housebound patients therefore you must be willing
to travel with the ability to travel independently between locations in a
timely manner.
Between October and December 2023 (final dates to be
announced) we will have a variety of shifts available on weekdays and/or
weekends between 8am to 8pm, at times across 7 days per week.

Main duties of the job
- To assess patient suitability for vaccination based on age, medical history and any contraindications and obtain patient consent
- To review vaccination records, discuss potential risks and benefits, and address any concerns or questions raised by patients or their caregivers
- To take patients through the screening and consenting process prior to non-registered vaccinators administering the vaccine to patients
