This role is vital to help us with this work and provides an interesting part time opportunity with no clinical direct patient care, medication reviews or advice element. This is an opportunity to gain experience in a unique role which can be delivered in conjunction with your current role. The current role holder will be retiring in December and there will be an opportunity to benefit from a handover period.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and highly experienced senior clinical pharmacist to lead a multi PCN pharmacist professional support and advice service. You will provide expert clinical strategic leadership to PCN ARRS (additional roles reimbursement scheme) Clinical Pharmacists (and if appropriate Pharmacy Technicians) within the PCNs in the Morecambe Bay area.
This is a highly specialised post, which involves analysing and interpreting highly complex professional and clinical situations to develop, provide and communicate effective solutions. There is a requirement to build good relationships with practices and PCNs and help embed the role of Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians, maintain clarity of direction and expectations of pharmacy teams whilst supporting the individuals to develop and expand their clinical practice and areas of competence.
Main duties of the job
The Principal Clinical Pharmacist will provide the strategic leadership for clinical support and advice for PCNs, MBPCC, PCN Clinical Pharmacists and where appropriate Pharmacy Technicians.
Facilitating medication optimisation knowledge and activity including guidance and formulary information and engagement in ICB programmes of work.
To support the Clinical Pharmacists by providing strategic clinical leadership on therapeutics, medicines optimisation and quality improvement.
Cascading information gained from a variety of local and national bodies.
Advice on achieving Primary Care targets (PCN DES, QIS and QoF) which includes EMIS SNOMED codes.
Medicines support via answering queries across multiple PCNs.
To provide information and support in complex scenarios around medicines related issues to Clinical Pharmacists.
Provide medicines management expertise and sharing best practice.
