Adult ADHD Services - Non-Prescribing Assessor

Job summary

Help adults unlock their potential in a service that puts good outcomes first. As an Adult ADHD Clinician (Non-Prescribing) youll be the anchor for high-quality assessments and reviews, blending thoughtful clinical work with clear, practical plans that make a difference at home, work and in relationships. Your week mixes remote video appointments with face-to-face clinics in Worcester/Redditch, MondayFriday, 95 with no on-call. Youll work closely with a Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical GP Lead and our Principal Clinical Psychologist, bringing cases to a supportive weekly MDT and handing medication decisions to the duty prescriber when needed.

Main duties of the job

  • Run structured adult ADHD assessments and reviews, using agreed tools and collateral to reach clear, defensible formulations.

  • Give plain-English feedback and produce same-day, high-quality summaries with practical adjustments for work/study and daily life.

  • Coordinate with the duty prescriber when medication is indicated (baselines, initiation, titration decisions), escalating any safety concerns promptly.

  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records and follow information-governance, consent/capacity and safeguarding standards.

  • Bring complexity to the weekly MDT, contribute to audit, incident learning and service improvement, and support induction/teaching for new colleagues.

  • Work to realistic clinic timings and help the team meet KPIs (timely reviews, documentation quality, patient experience).

  • Communicate proactively with GPs and partner services so care is joined-up and patients arent left navigating the system alone.

  • MDT working with prescribers; high-quality clinical report writing; managing co-morbidities and risk.

Qualifications

  • One of: HCPC Practitioner Psychologist, NMC RMN (non-prescribing), or other registered clinician with recognised adult ADHD competence.
  • Safeguarding Level 3, Enhanced DBS, Right to Work (UK).
  • Evidence of recent ADHD-specific CPD; remote-consultation training desirable.
