Learning & Development Advisor
£30,313 FTE (£12,125 pro rata)
15 hours per week -worked over 2 days (9-5) or 3 days (9.30-2.30)
We have a new
opportunity for somebody to join our People Services Team to support and lead
on our internal L&D activity.
Based in Dorchester and working within the People
Services Team, this role is responsible for the continued delivery and
evaluation of our internal learning and development programme, which includes
Apprenticeships. Ensuring that our offering aligns with Weldmars Values, strategic
aims and objectives whilst meeting the needs of staff and volunteers. Youll be
accountable for working with Leaders to ensure that all statutory and mandatory
training is completed, providing
relevant MI, insights and reporting as required.
You will work closely with our People Services
Business Partners and Administrators to identify and address any skills or
knowledge gaps within the organisation. Youll also be responsible for our
relationship with our external training providers, e-learning partners and our
Weldmar Learning Hub.
Main duties of the job
Work with
staff and volunteers to promote and develop a learning culture within Weldmar.
Ensure
compliance on statutory and mandatory training in order that accurate data is reported
on for our regulatory bodies, Integrated Care Board (ICB), Care Quality
Commission (CQC) and commissioners at NHS Dorset.
Ensure the
smooth running and administration of the programme for statutory and mandatory
training for staff and volunteers and proactive planning for future programmes
Develop new
strategic approaches to deliver the education, learning and development
programme.
Partner with
a variety of experts and third parties who will aid in the design, development
and delivery of the learning journey.
Responsible
for the management of apprenticeship scheme and levy.
Responsible
for monitoring income and expenditure against the education and development
budget.

In partnership with People Services Business Partners, develop and implement an annual Learning and Development plan aligned with Weldmar's strategic objectives and the needs of staff and volunteers.
Develop and facilitate Weldmars induction programme, working with other facilitators and ensuring smooth running of the day.
Collaborate with the clinical team including the Practice Educator to ensure effective design and delivery of specialised training programs on specific areas of palliative care.
Work with People Services Business Partners and Practice Educator to review the training provision and undertake a training needs analysis as required
Work with external training provider to design, implement and deliver training modules through an online learning platform for Weldmars staff and volunteers.
Develop a robust evaluation process to measure the effectiveness and impact of educational, learning and training programs on staff and volunteer performance and patient care outcomes.
Manage and oversee the administration of the Learning and Development program, ensuring that all programs are delivered within the allocated budget.
Maintain accurate records of staff and volunteer training and development activities, including training attendance records, feedback, and evaluation data.
Work closely with the People Services team to identify training and development needs as part of the performance appraisal process.
Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to ensure that Weldmar staff and volunteers have access to relevant and up-to-date information and resources pertinent to current practice and legislation.
- Oversee the production and distribution of training advertising and materials to ensure that they remain in budget, upholding brand guidelines.
- Develop the delivery of education, learning and development in creative ways including virtual and in person ensuring that individual learning styles and needs are considered.
- Lead on the development and implementation of the apprenticeship programme for Weldmar.
- Role model current good practice and current expertise in education delivery methods and approaches.
- Liaise with Head of People Services to ensure that proactive budgetary planning is in place.
- Ensure that a range of education, learning and development opportunities are available to staff and volunteers to meet both individual needs and service development objectives.
- Work within any service level agreements with local commissioners.
- Provide support and advice to managers on all aspects of learning and development, including training needs analysis, career development and succession planning.
- Represent the Education and Development Team at the required internal committee meetings.
- Maintain records and give progress reports on delegated projects and initiatives.
