Job summary
This role is for 3 sessions per week on a Sunday - 08:00 - 20:00. The post-holder will act as an independent GP in the ABC GP in ED/UTC service based at East Surrey Hospital.
Main duties of the job
A key element of the role is to build relationships with clinicians, both with the ABC GP Consultants working within the service and with the clinicians working within the ED and trust, as well as with other providers and commissioners.
The post holder will be supported by a Service Manager and Head of Core Clinical Services as well as clinical supervision from the Urgent Care Clinical Lead, ensuring the service runs effectively, safely and provides excellent quality of care.

The role will require an overview of the Accident and Emergency department, identifying patients who can be managed expertly by our GP in ED team or appropriately re-directed to other community services. This will include triage of patients signposted to Accident and Emergency by NHS 111, streaming clinically suitable patients presenting to A&E to our Primary Care team, and to see and treat patients as they present to A&E. The role may require bedside teaching and supervision of colleagues and trainees, supporting shared decision making.
