Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

The post holder will be part of a team that provides an urgent primary care response 7 days a week 0800-20:00 to refugee and asylum seekers accommodated in hotels in Sussex and Surrey, as well as responsibility for various assessments including health checks/TB checks/ and vaccination programmes as required by Public Health to ensure that health needs of refugees and asylum seekers are met.

Main duties of the job

The service reflects the needs of refugee and asylum seekers and is delivered across an increasing number of hotels predominantly around Gatwick but also includes several hotels in East Sussex. As this service covers Surrey and Sussex, staff may need to travel some distance to see patients in hotels. However we aim to roster staff to provide on site clinics at locations closest to their base, and all travel beyond base will be reimbursed at standard 45p per mile rate.

This post is offered as a bank post and offers clinicians the opportunity to develop additional skills and experience the physical and mental health needs of refugees and asylum seekers.
