Job summary

ABC are providing an increasing breadth and depth of clinical services across our area, responding to immediate and urgent needs as well as supporting overall increase in services closer to where patients live. The Clinical Leadership of these services is critical to providing high quality care that meet our values and we are therefore looking to increase our number of operational clinical leaders.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership to the ABC provided clinical services within the geographical area (Crawley & Horsham). A key element of the role is to build relationships with clinicians, providers, be able to work in that area and identify how we can provide employment that fits the needs of the individuals and our services to increase the consistency and therefore quality of services we provide.

Main duties of the job

The Crawley and Horsham Clinical Lead will work with the Clinical Services Management Team to design, develop and maintain place-based clinical services that uphold the ABC values. These services include, but are not limited to:

- Enhanced Access

- Vaccinations

- CVD, Hypertension and Lipids Management

- Targeted Lung Health Checks

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder should be able to spend some time working in the service on an additional sessional basis to have firsthand experience of the delivery model and local relationships.They will be supported by an Operational Manager as well as the ABC Quality Assurance, Finance and HR teams to ensure that our clinical services run effectively, safely and provide excellent quality of care.

Clinical leadership is vital to delivering effective services as it ensures that those closest to the patient and therefore the service provision drive decisions on what those services should be. Therefore, the post holder will be able to propose and support improvements and developments to the services, manage complaints and incidents and engage with quality improvement projects. The post holder should also work with practices establish effective communications. ABC are able to provide Quality Improvement skills training to enable this.

The post holder will support clinical audits at times as well as identify improvements and developments through working with the services and attending partner and commissioner meetings as relevant. They will also be responsible for ensuring adequate supervisions and learning forums are available to clinical team members, as well as taking part in and leading on quarterly ABC Clinical Training days and quarterly Clinical Lead Team
